Patricia
Mohr
Sep 29, 1951 — Jun 16, 2022
Patricia "Trish" Jean Lindsay Mohr, age 70, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, June 16, 2022.
Trish was born and raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee where she graduated from City High School. She attended Florida State University where she studied oceanography. This led to a lifetime of philanthropy and advocacy for all animals, great and small. She once interviewed on the Calypso for a job with Jacque Cousteau. She was told to enhance her mastery of the French language and she briefly entertained the idea of moving to Paris and working as a dancer at the Crazy Horse Saloon.
On July 4th, 1986, she married her best friend Neil Mohr on their 42' Egg Harbor boat off the coast of Florida. They eventually found themselves living in the Florida Keys where they weathered many a storm and even a hurricane or two. They left the boating life and found a home in Daytona Beach with their two featured friends. Waylon, an African gray parrot, and Willie a white cockatoo learned quite an extensive vocabulary from Trish and Neil. After Neil's passing the birds provided Trish comfort and companionship. Per Trish's request, the birds now reside at Patty's Parrot Paradise in Deland. Generous to a fault, Trish shared good times with family and friends at Disney World and at Daytona International Speedway. Trish will be missed. Her kindness, her knowledge, her laughter, and her laid-back lifestyle were freely shared with all.
Trish is survived by her stepchildren, Ken Mohr (Lori), Karen Monaco (Dino), and her brothers, Arthur Lindsay, Lee Lindsay, and Larry Lindsay. She is preceded in death by her husband, Neil Mohr, and her parents Jean and Clarence Lindsay, Jr.
Memorials may be made to Patty's Parrot Paradise, 1065 S Beresford Rd, DeLand, FL 32720, or David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (https://www.sheldrickwildlifetrust.org/donate/honour)
