Obituary

Pastor Ferdinand (F.A.) Drevlow 84 South Daytona passed away peacefully Tuesday May 19 2009 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in Lakeland FL following a brief illness. A service is scheduled for Sunday May 24th at 2 pm at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in South Daytona. Visitation will precede the service at 1:30 pm.
Pastor Drevlow was born June 30 1924 in Round Prairie MN to August and Bertha Drevlow. He married Leona Altenbrunn on August 21 1949. He served as pastor at various churches in Wisconsin Texas Ohio and finally South Daytona where he was founding pastor of Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
He was a known and respected leader in the South Daytona community. He participated in the Exchange Club and served as its president for a time. He retired from the pastorate in 1994 on his 70th birthday.
Pastor and Mrs. Drevlow relocated to Lakeland FL in 2006 to be closer to their daughter and her husband. They were blessed with 58 years of marriage before Leona's passing on November 30 2007.

Pastor Drevlow enjoyed serving the Lord helping others in need and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by three children: son Stephen (Michelle) Drevlow Port Orange FL and daughters Sharon (Sandy) Sandifer Houston TX and Stephanie (Richard) Peart Lakeland FL; Grandchildren: Cherie (Matt) Geesaman David (Katie) Sandifer Stephanie (Jamie) Devivo Karen Lauren and Katherine Sandifer Nicole and Stephen Drevlow; Great grandchildren: Gabe and Mia Devivo and a great-grandson due in September. A grandson Darrell Drevlow preceded Ferdinand in death.
