Othel E. "Gene" Davis Jr. 61 Daytona Beach passed away tragically on Sunday August 3 2008. The Daytona Chapel of the Lohman Funeral Home will have a service in his honor on Friday August 8 2008 at 11 a.m. Interment at Daytona Memorial Park. Visitation will be Thursday August 7 2008 from 5pm until 7pm. Mr. Davis the "rocket doctor" dedicated over 30 years as an engineer at the Kennedy Space Center retiring more than once. He celebrated each day and blessed us all with his love of life. He enjoyed card games fishing and riding his motorcycle. Gene was a champion pool player and a fun loving humorous man whose greatest gift was his friendship. He leaves behind to cherish his memory the "love of his life" his wife Dianne Davis; a son Derek (Cortney) Davis; two grandchildren AJ and Lilah; a sister Sue (Billy) Johnson; and a pup Spencer. He was preceded in death by his parents Othel Davis Sr. and Irene Phillips Davis and sister Betty Tucker.
