Orlando Rentas passed away peacefully on December 3, 2015. He was surrounded by members of his family and loved ones. Orlando was a beloved son, brother, father, uncle and grandfather.
Orlando was born in Brooklyn, New York on May 4, 1956. He was one of twelve children. He was a retired New York State Correction Officer who moved to Palm Coast to be near his brothers Manny and Tommy and his niece Venus. Orlando is survived by his five children, Orlando, Jr., Jonathan, Krystal, Chayenne, Matthew and Thomas. He was the son of the late Tomas Rentas and is survived by his mother, Juanita.
For most of his life, he resided in the Red Hook area of Brooklyn, an area he fondly referred to as "a little town called Red Hook". His passions were the beach, salsa music and playing dominoes and 500 rummy.
Orlando was a kind hearted soul who was loved by everyone. He has been called by the Lord and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 7, 2015 from 2-4 P.M. and 6 to 8 P.M. at Lohman Funeral Home, 220 Palm Coast Pkwy., in Palm Coast. On Wednesday, December 9, 2015, a viewing at 10 A.M. followed by a Mass will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church at 4600 Belle Terre Pkwy., Palm Coast. After other services in Brooklyn, New York, burial will be at Rosedale Cemetery, Linden, New Jersey.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made in Orlando's name to the Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House, 150 Memorial Medical Parkway, Palm Coast, FL 32164 or to the American Cancer Society.
