Orlando Alfonso "Al" Nunziata age 87 passed into life eternal on Wednesday January 17 2007 at Florida Hospital Flagler in Palm Coast. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church at 10:00am on Saturday January 20 2007. The family will receive friends from 5:00pm to 7:00pm tonight Friday January 19 2007 in the chapel of Lohman Funeral Home Palm Coast and for the hour prior to the Mass in the church memorial room. Interment will take place at a later date in Calvary Cemetery in New York City. Al was born August 12 1919 in Brooklyn N.Y. to Antonio & Elisabetta (Sorvilo) Nunziata. Al graduated from St. John's University and received his Master's Degree in Education from Fordham University. He was a school teacher John Adams High School in Queens N.Y. until his retirement. A devout Catholic Al has been a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church the Holy Name Society St. Anthony Padua Catholic Church he was a lector at St. Andrew's Church in Sag Harbor Long Island and he was a past president of Interfaith Counsel of South West Queens. In 1980 Al & his wife Concetta moved from Sag Harbor to Palm Coast. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church & the Italian-American Social Club. Al is survived by his loving family- his wife of 44 years Concetta "Connie" Nunziata; children Elizabeth (husband Daniel) Piettro Anthony Nunziata and William (wife Janice) Nunziata; 9 grandchildren Daniel A. Piettro Linda Piettro Carman (husband Richard) Catherine (husband Matthew) Schnauder Dana Piettro Paul Piettro William Nunziata Michael Nunziata Joseph Nunziata & Paloma Nunziata; 6 great-grandchildren Talia & Leanna Carman Christopher Piettro and Michael Olivia Grace & Matther Schnauder; his brother Silvio (wife Elizabeth) Nunziata; and in-laws Stephanie Nunziata Joseph (wife Magdaline) Lizzio Pat Rella & Rose Villano. Arrangements are under the careful direction of Lohman Funeral Home Palm Coast.
