A Memorial Service for Orin L. Doane 89 of Ormond Beach FL who passed away on July 20 2009 will be held at 1:00pm Friday July 24 2009 at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond 733 W. Granada Blvd. Ormond Beach FL. Mr. Doane was born in Norwalk Ohio on February 18 1920. He served in the US Army and received a Silver Star Medal during World War II. He was a retired Captain for the Norwalk Police Department a retired Lt. with the Huron County Sheriff Department and the D.O.T in Norwalk OH. He also was retired from the Avis Budget Group in Daytona. He was a member of the VFW Post 3282 the American Legion #270 the Moose Lodge #1263 the Halifax River Yacht Club the Huron Yacht Club (where he was a Commadore) and the Fraternal Order of Police in Norwalk. Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife Jane of Ormond Beach. He was preceded in death by his son Lee O. Doane. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the VITAS Hospice 533 N.
