Mrs. Olivia Irene (Tucker) Ward also known as DeeDee, of Union Bridge, Maryland, was born on February 16, 1926 in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Margie Tucker Clark, passed away at age 91 on March 25, 2018 in Palm Coast, Florida. Olivia graduated from Robert Moton for high school in 1941, Maryland State Teachers College at Bowie (Bowie State University) in 1944, and New York University for graduate school in 1946. She was an Elementary School Principal in NYC until retiring in 1982. Olivia was the beloved wife of the late Benjamin Ward. She was preceded in death by her brother, Ira Raymond Tucker; sister, Ruth Magruder Camps; grandmother, Cora Irene Tucker; and grandfather, Ira Raymond Tucker. Olivia is survived by her daughters, Mary Ward Markāne and Margie Magruder Ward Lewis; grandchildren, Brenda Rawlins, Michael Lewis, Michelle Lewis, and Tremaine B Ward; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She enjoyed singing, playing the piano, gardening, and attending Broadway shows and was a member of Delta Sigma Theta. She was a member of EOS, AWOL, SAG, and AFTRA. Donations in Olivia's name to American Diabetes Association and Dementia Society of America are welcome and appreciated. Special thanks to the staff at Daytona Health and Rehabilitation Center, Vitas Hospice for all the care and attention they provided to our mother, Lohman Funeral Homes for attending to every detail and our family and friends for keeping us in their hearts during this very difficult time in our lives. Our memories of our beloved mother will forever live in our hearts. We love you Mommy. Friends and family members may attend the Funeral Mass, officiated by Father Jason Trull, on Tuesday, April 3 at 1:30pm with a Visitation being held from 12:30pm til the Service begins all at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 4600 Belle Terre Pkwy, Palm Coast, Florida, 32164. Lohman Funeral Homes is handling arrangements, 220 Palm Coast Parkway, SW, Palm Coast, (386) 448-1100. Condolences may be shared with the family here on our online guestbook.
