Obituary

Oliver "Pete" Bond-Nelson 69 of 12th Street Edgewater FL a retired automotive design sculptor for General Motors died Friday April 20 2007 at Bert Fish Medical Center. Pete was born in Calcutta India on February 12 1938. He graduated from Scotch Plains High School in 1955 and studied Industrial Design at the University of Bridgeport Connecticut. Pete volunteered for the draft in 1961 honorably serving in the U.S. Army as Specialist 5th Class. Mr. Bond-Nelson moved to Edgewater from Rochester Hills Michigan in 1997. He was a member of Grace Community Church New Smyrna Beach and served there as chairperson of the Board of Trustees. Mr. Bond-Nelson was a talented photographer and antique car buff. He loved to travel fish collect coins and spend time with his grandson. Survivors include his companion Sandra Morcom; three daughters Tara Owens (Scott) of Lansing MI Melissa Bond-Nelson of Edgewater FL and Amy Moore (Nick) Fowlerville MI; three step-daughters Karen Ormsby Linda Norton and Marsha Farney; two brothers James and Duncan and one grandson Jacob. Memorial donations may be made to Grace Community Church P.O. Box 78 New Smyrna Beach FL 32170. A memorial service will be held at the church (1100 West 10th Street) on Wednesday April 25 at 1 p.m.
