Norman "Norm" Tepper a long-time resident of Flagler Beach Florida passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Saturday January 6 2007. A visitation with the family will be held at 10 a.m. on Sunday January 14 2007 at the Palm Coast Chapel of Lohman Funeral Homes 220 Palm Coast Parkway SW Palm Coast FL followed by a Celebration of Life Gathering at 11 a.m. Norm was born on March 6 1928 to the late Max and Dorothy Tepper in Brooklyn NY. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and later joined the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington D.C. in 1950 where he served with distinction for twenty-one years until his retirement in 1971. After retiring from the police force Norm was employed by the Prince Georges County Maryland Public School System where he was Assistant Supervisor of Security Services until moving with his family to Flagler Beach FL in 1974. Although retired Norm continued to be a dedicated public servant and was elected to multiple terms as commissioner on the Flagler Beach City Commission. He enjoyed playing golf fishing reading politics watching his favorite sports teams and had a fondness for all animals especially his birds Sunshine and Rainbow. As passionate as he was about his varied interests his true passion was for his home and family. Norm was a devoted husband father and grandfather who will be missed by all. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 51 years Barbara; daughter Lori (Jay) Doolittle of Matthews NC; son David (Lois) Tepper of Tallahassee FL; and three beautiful grandchildren Kristen and Jessica Doolittle and Sarah Tepper. He was preceded in death by his younger sister Eileen Stouck. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made in honor of Norm to the American Cancer Society. A gathering of family and friends will take place after the celebration at the Tepper residence.
