Norman "Don" Serbousek 83 of Holly Hill FL passed away on August 3 2010 at Southeast Volusia Care Center Edgewater FL. Funeral Services with Military Honors will be celebrated on Saturday August 7th at 11:00 am at the Ormond Beach Presbyterian Church 105 Amsden Rd. Ormond Beach FL. officiating Pastor Mike Foley. Don was born on October 13 1926 in Center Junction Iowa to Alan and Della (Mead) Serbousek. He relocated to Volusia County in 1957 from Cedar Rapids Iowa. He was the owner/operator of "Diving Don TV & Dive Shop" and he served his country during WW II in the Army/Air Corp. He was a member of Ormond Beach Presbyterian Church a member of the Ormond Beach Anchor Chasers co-founder of the Artificial Reef Program in Volusia County; he was a 32nd Degree Mason a 50 year member of the Scottish Rite/York Rite. His enjoyments included paleontology archeology scuba diving building bird houses and his family. In his ventures he discovered the largest mastodon in the North America (Displayed at the Florida Museum of Natural History) several sloths one of which is displayed in The Daytona Museum of Arts and Sciences and the shipwreck of the Commodore the subject of the Steven Crane short story "The Open Boat". Don is survived by his wife of 61 years Marjorie A. Serbousek Holly Hill son Ted W. Serbousek and his wife Cindi daughters Francie Lesher and her husband Don Janet Lucas and her husband Doug all of Ormond Beach FL. brother Leonard Serbousek Center Junction Iowa six grandchildren Brad and Douglas Hunt Christie Mucciolo Tara Blenden Tiffany Rae and Brett Serbousek and five great-grandchildren Ashtyn Chase Evan Colton and Calista. He was preceded in death by his twin brother Dee. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler and/or Shriners Children Hospital.
