A Funeral Mass for Norman Edward LaMotte age 79 of Holly Hill who passed away peacefully on Tuesday April 4 2006 at the Hospice Care Center of Port Orange will be held Saturday April 8th at 9:00 am at the Basilica of St. Paul with the Reverend Father Paul Kamide officiating. Internment will follow at Daytona Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Friday April 7th from 6:00-8:00 pm at Lohman Daytona Funeral Home 1423 Bellevue Avenue Daytona Beach.

Mr. LaMotte was born on October 29 1926 in Auburn New York; graduated from Auburn East High School Auburn NY in 1943. He was a World War ll Veteran of the United States Army Air Force serving in Germany until 1946 and he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Clarkson College of Technology in 1951.

Mr. LaMotte moved to the Daytona Beach area in 1963 from Syracuse NY with General Electric Company and retired from GE in 1987 after 28 years of service.

As an active member of St. Paul?s Church Mr. LaMotte coached their basketball teams was a member of Holy Name Society and was a Commentator of the Liturgy.

He was a member and officer of the GE Golf League here in Daytona Beach. He enjoyed square dancing traveling and attending the sporting events of his children especially their football games.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 120 Walker Street Holly Hill.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years Evelyn; one sister Olive Ann Clifford Hamilton NY; four sons Alan LaMotte Cheryl Satellite Beach FL; David LaMotte Karen Daytona Beach FL; Brian LaMotte Marcie Palm Beach Gardens FL; Paul LaMotte Michele Duluth GA; two daughters Tina Hutto Snellville GA; and Carrie Robertson Jeff Debary FL; 14 grandchildren Ryan Michael and Mariah Hutto; Ian and Emily LaMotte Tiffany LaMotte; Danielle and Justin LaMotte and Samara Tinsley; Maggie and Sara Robertson; Keegan Riley and Nolan LaMotte as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

After a lengthy battle with Parkinson?s disease he entered Hospice Care Center in Port Orange FL and succumbed Tuesday April 4th with his family in attendance. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler 3800 Woodbriar Trail Port Orange FL 32129 or to the Parkinson?s Association of Volusia County 111 North Frederick Street Daytona Beach FL 32114.
