Nick Lawson Lacey 90 passed away Tuesday June 26 2012. A Memorial Service in his honor will be held Saturday July 7 2012 from 2-4pm at Baggett and Summers Funeral Home 736 South Beach St. Daytona Beach FL. Inurnment will be at Jacksonville National Cemetery at a later date.

Nick proudly served his country in the Navy during WWII as a Pharmacist's Mate 1st Class. He also flew in B24 Bombers as a Medic in the Fleet Air Wing 7 stationed in Dunkeswell England. In 2010 Nick flew again in a B24 Bomber with his grandson Wade in Keystone Heights. Nick was a Past Commander of the Power Squadron in Daytona Beach.

Nick was a self made accomplished man. He and his wife June moved to the Daytona area in 1958 from Michigan. Together they owned Lacey's Gift Shop on Main Street in Daytona Beach. Nick also established Lacey's Manufacturing Screen Print Business on Herbert Street in Port Orange. Work was the love of his life. He was passionate about his shops. Nick was featured on the TV show "That's Incredible" for the World's Largest Screen Printed T-shirt. Nick was an active member of the Main Street Association.

Before Chuck Norris there was Nick Lacey! There was nothing Nick could not do! He could literally make anything. He was a Mr. Fix-it to Perfection.

Nick enjoyed golf and fishing. He loved gardening and tending to his koi pond. He also loved a good nap. Nick and June traveled around the country visiting family in their motor home. They loved staying at their summer home in North Carolina.

Nick was predeceased by his wife of 54 years June and by his brother Ted. He is survived by his daughters: Mary Higginbotham of Ponte Vedra Beach FL and Sharon Mackel (Donald) of Albuquerque NM. He will also be sadly missed by his grandchildren: Scott Mackel (Gina); Amber Higginbotham (Jim Bobbitt) Wade Higginbotham and Derek Mackel; by his great grandchildren: Haley and Nicole Mackel. He is survived by his brothers: Fred Lacey and Clyde Lacey (Marguerite) and sister-in-law Ruth Lacey all of MI and Joe Lacey (Betty) of Port Orange.
