Nicholas Jateff 80 of Ormond Beach passed away Thursday April 15 2010. A Celebration of life will be held at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond 733 W. Granada Blvd on Tuesday April 20 2010 at 5:00 pm. The family will begin receiving guest at 4pm.

Nick was born to Andrew and Georgeanna Jateff in Granite City Illinois on February 23 1930. He attended the University of Akron from which he received his degree in Industrial Management. He also served with pride in the United States Army during the Korean War. Nick enjoyed the beach dancing bowling and horses. He was an avid sportsman and was proud to have played football under the direction of Coach Don Schula during the war. They remained friends throughout his life.

Nick worked for Goodyear/Dunlop in the government sales department. He retired to Florida in 1987 and later to the Ormond Beach area in 1992. He worked for many years with Lohman Funeral Homes and was the best Limo diver in town!

Nick was truly a kind spirited person; and he made a friend in all. A smile never left Nick's face even through the hard times. He lived his life with such passion and zest. His presence will be greatly missed but his life always be remembered.

He is preceded in death by wife Mary Ann Jateff father Andrew mother Georgeanna and sister Violet. Survivors include his loving daughters Christine Jateff-Davis (James) of Daytona Beach Lisa Henderson (Randy) of Woodstock Georgia grandchildren Andrew Henderson Jonathan Jateff Randi Leigh Henderson great grandchildren Chandler Jateff London Kirby sister B.J. Ashman and her daughter Andrae of Irving California many other family members and friends.
