Nelson Perez, Sr., of Deltona, Florida passed away on Tuesday, October 12th, 2021. He was 66. Nelson was born January 3rd, 1955 in Brooklyn, New York, the son of Heriberto and Brunilda Perez.

Nelson worked as a Maintenance Specialist for the City of Orange City for almost 20 years. He retired September 30th, 2021. In his spare time Nelson enjoyed playing basketball, dancing to salsa and merengue music, and watching movies with his family. His true passion was construction. He remodeled bathrooms, patios, and worked on many other projects. He even helped build the 2012 Christmas float for the Orange City Christmas Parade. Nelson was a hard working, hilarious man, with a genuine kind personality. He was loved and will be truly missed by all who knew him.

Nelson is survived by his wife, Maria I. Perez; his son, Nelson Perez, Jr.; his daughter Maigen D. Perez; granddaughters, Nevaeh Crosby, Alana I. Perez, and Jasmine Nemeth; grandson, Gavin A. Perez; and great-granddaughter Nina Black.

A Celebration Gathering will be held from 3-7 pm, Friday, October 22nd at Lohman Funeral Home Deltona, 1681 Providence Blvd, Deltona, Florida 32725.  Arrangements are under the direction and care of Lohman Funeral Home Deltona - (386)860-5900.
