Mr. Nelson H. Groves 78 of Wilbur by the Sea beloved husband of Helen T. Groves died Thursday October 25 2012 after a long illness with melanoma.
Please join us in a celebration of Nelson's life at 11:00AM on Tuesday October 30 2012 at Daytona Memorial Park Cemetery; 1425 Bellevue Ave. Daytona Beach Florida 32114. The service will be held at the graveside in the breezeway of Eternal Light Mausoleum.
Born and raised in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Hugh and Vernadean Groves. Nelson graduated from South Hills High School in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and worked as a journeyman tool and die machinist for McKinney Co. of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. He was an owner/partner of KoolVent Industries of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania until he retired to Wilbur by the Sea Florida in 1990. During his retirement Nelson founded and ran Groves Industries which included designing and building high end luxury furniture and making & donating life guard chair awards for the Bill Walter III Melanoma Research Fund 5K every year.
Nelson is survived by his beloved wife Helen T. Groves of 33 years his daughter Carey Jeanne McFeely and husband Mark of Carroll Township Pennsylvania his daughter Terriann Shipley of San Antonio Texas his grandson Bryan Knaus & wife Shanon of Red Oak Iowa his grandson Joey Chada of Ruffs Dale Pennsylvania and grandson Andrew Santos of San Antonio Texas. He also leaves behind a great granddaughter Brynn Knaus and a great grandson Cole Magill both of Red Oak Iowa. He will be greatly missed by his family members Chess & Laverne Gasior of Finleyville Pennsylvania. Jim & Edie Woods and Victor & Jean Gasior of Wilbur by the Sea Florida friends Chuck & Retta Oliphant from Wilbur by the Sea Florida and Chuck and Barb McMillen Waynesburg Pennsylvania. He is preceded in death by his daughter Linda Lane Groves Wheeler.
