Nellie Faye Allen age 68 a lifetime resident of Deland took the hand of Our Lord and her son and journeyed home on Sunday June 10 2012. A funeral service in her honor will be held 11:00 AM Friday June 15 at the Deland Chapel of the Lohman Funeral Home followed by an interment at Deland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive guest on Thurs. 5-7:00 PM. Nellie was born one of 9 children to Ernest and Elsie Rainey she dedicated her life as a homemaker wife mother and grandmother. She was a loving hardworking strong comforting Irish woman; firm in her convictions who enjoyed crosswords puzzles gardening fishing and spending time with her family. She marched with Gods Army as a member of Wesleyan Baptist Church with Rev. Lee Her parents 6 siblings and beloved son; Marcus Lynn Allen preceded her in death and she leaves behind her husband of 47 years Lamar Allen 3 sons: John Duane Allen Kenneth Lamar (Mary Rebecca) Allen and Jeff (Tylene) Allen 10 grandchildren: Christopher Whitney Destinee Samantha Nathan Blake Tessa Courtney Lil Kenny Landen and Leeann Faye 2 sisters: Myrtis Reynolds and Mildred Miles and a large extended loving family of friends.
