IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Nancy E.
Lent
October 9, 1937 – March 14, 2026
Born on October 9, 1937, Nancy was a kind, humble soul who loved to travel, loved to laugh, but above all, loved her family. Becoming a mother at a very young age, she endured many hardships through her teens and into her 20s, but it was the love she shared with her son, Stephen, that kept her going.
Nancy was strong and she was independent, but more so, she was protective and nurturing. She worked hard to provide for Stephen, sacrificing her happiness and her personal safety to make sure he didn't go without. As time went on, things began to change for the better. Her life improved and her family grew. Stephen went on to marry and have children of his own, and she found love in Alexander "Larry" Lent.
When Larry suddenly passed, the love of family kept her going, much as it did when Stephen was younger. She still found purpose in life, as well as a desire to live it to the fullest. When her family started to falter, she was the glue that held the remnants intact. She was a safe haven and a guardian when hope seemed to fade. She inspired others, and she gave them that hope when they did not have any.
One day, fate reciprocated the favor and restored some hope when it reconnected her with long lost family from her childhood...even from halfway across the country!
Nancy loved to travel, finding solace within the crisp, frigid air of Alaska, as well as the tropical heat of the Caribbean. She loved the competitive nature of sports, rooting for her respective New York teams, the Giants and the Yankees, alongside her son and grandsons.
As the years progressed, the unthinkable happened. She was predeceased by her son, Stephen. Despite the pain she felt from the loss, the love she had for him transferred to her grandsons and her great- grandchildren. Her strength endured. And so did her love. She remained the matriarch of her family until that undying love was needed in heaven...and the Lord called her home. Nancy passed away at the age of 88 on March 14, 2026. She is survived by her grandsons, Douglas, Gregory, and Patrick, and her great-grandchildren, Hannah, Andrew, Grace, Peyton, Caleb, and Mackenzie. She is also survived by her remaining California family. She will forever be in their hearts and souls, cherished until one day they will meet again.
