Nancy Dawn Lawson, 71, of Port Orange, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2022. Nancy was born on December 13, 1950 to Donald Atwood and Barbara Stephens Atwood in Orillia, Canada. Nancy and her family moved to the US and she became a US citizen of Texas on August 13, 1973. Nancy would later move to Florida to care for her brother after her parents passed in May of 2001.

It was in Florida that Nancy met the love of her life, Chester Lawson, and the two were married on December 27, 2002. That same year Nancy took a job teaching blind children braille for Volusia County, in various schools. Nancy retired from teaching in 2016.

Nancy will be sadly missed by family and friends.

Services for Nancy will be held at Lohman Funeral Home, 1201 Dunlawton Avenue, Port Orange, Florida 32127, on Thursday, May 19, 2022. Visitation starts at 10:00 am, and Service starts at 11:00 am.
