Nancy Franks passed away on September 9, a week after her 94 ^th birthday.  Nancy and Syd, her adoring husband of 64 years, had three cherished sons. Born and raised in East London's Hackney, Nancy survived the 1940 Blitz and served with honor in the British Women's Land Army. She and her family immigrated on The Queen Mary to The Bronx, NY in 1954 where they lived for 15 years before moving to Pequannock, NJ. Although born in the UK, Nancy and her family proudly became American citizens shortly after arriving in the US.

Nancy worked in New York City's garment industry and later started her own business of handmade nursery décor. She and Syd retired in Ormond Beach, FL where they enjoyed the company of an extensive group of close friends and neighbors and frequent visits from their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her strength and grace made an immediate and lasting impression on all she met. She beautifully balanced a youthful spirit with a sage soul.

Nancy's light continues to shine on her son Ron of Ormond Beach, FL, son and daughter-in-law Andrew and Terry of Riverdale, NJ, eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a large extended family. While her zest for life never quelled, Nancy deeply missed her husband and also looked forward to a long awaited reunion with her beloved son Ian, KIA in Viet Nam. Now Nancy, Syd and Ian are finally together again.

Nancy will be gravely missed, but by emulating her strength and grace we honor her final wish for us to "have a wonderful journey and a great life."
