Nancy G. Alexander passed away at the age of 95, on April 12, 2023. She enjoyed a rich, full life. She was born in Columbus, Ohio on July 16, 1927, to Leo and Florence Groff. Her sister, Patricia, was born a year later. The girls had a wonderful childhood. Nancy's nickname was "Little Bits". The family pharmacy was only two blocks away from their home. The girls would collect bottles to buy soda, candy and ice cream. Nancy became a Buckeye and attended Ohio State University for four years, obtaining a degree in Sociology. She moved to Washington, DC, where she was employed in Social Work and met the love of her life, Roy. They married in 1954, and had a son, Christopher, in 1960. One year later, Roy accepted a position in Tulsa, Oklahoma as a clinical chemist, where their daughter Jennifer was born in 1961.

In 1966, the family moved to St. Louis, Missouri, where Roy accepted a new position at St. Louis University Hospital. There, Nancy worked for Pfizer Genetics and volunteered at Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital for many years.
Nancy had a strong faith and found comfort in the Methodist Church. She was a long-time member of the United Methodist Women. She enjoyed participating in Women's Bible study throughout her life.

Nancy enjoyed shopping, reading, cross stitch, making crafts, traveling, visiting art museums, and attending jazz concerts with her late husband, Roy.

She loved spending time with friends and family. She is survived by her daughter Jennifer (Alexander) Backlund and husband Greg, as well as her son Christopher and wife Debbie. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, whom she adored: Gilford, Grant, Jesse, Jamie and Jake. Condolences may be left at www.lohmansfuneralhome.com.
