Naaman Robert Harper age 85 went home to be with our Lord unexpectedly on April 7 2011. A 4:00 gathering until a 6:00 PM funeral service in his honor will be held on Wednesday April 13 2011 at the Deland Chapel of the Lohman Funeral Home. Interment and services will follow at Hendersonville Memorial Gardens Hendersonville Tennessee.
Naaman was born the youngest of 6 children to James King and Minnie Pearl Harper. He was a proud retired veteran of the US Navy (1943-1952) and the US Air National Guard (1959-1975) serving during WWII The Korean War and the Vietnam Conflict he also dedicated his talents as a Bio Chemist for the State of Tennessee. Naaman was a member of Church of Christ Deland man of great faith; he often led the congregation in song. He enjoyed refinishing furniture reading Lawrence Welk cross word puzzles coffee and making people laugh. He was a generous loving father and grandfather a devoted husband with a fun loving joyful spirit that was evident in his morning smile jokes and play time with his family and his gratitude for each day.
His beloved wife of nearly 60 years Dora Mae Harper six siblings a son Lonnie Eugene Harper and a daughter Ramona Gay Harper preceded him in death and he leaves behind to cherish his memory 4 children: Robert (Marilyn) Harper Joseph "Jody" Harper Tracy Lee Harper and Vanessa Gale Boyd 11 grandchildren 8 great grandchildren and many loving; extended family Church family and friends.
