Obituary

N. David Anderson 72 Ormond Beach passed into the Arms of his Lord Sun. Dec. 23 2007. His family will be greeting visitors Thursday from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Lohman Funeral Home in Ormond Beach. The funeral service will be held Friday at 11:30 a.m. at Tomoka Christian Church with a graveside service to follow at Volusia Memorial Park.

Born and raised in Erie Pa. Mr. Anderson attended the University of Rochester where he competed on the golf team and was a member of Naval ROTC. After graduation he served three years in the Navy on active duty and then 18 more years in the Naval Reserves retiring as a captain. He joined General Electric in 1960 and would go on to serve 35 years with the company as an engineer and program manager. He helped open GE's new Daytona Beach plant in 1962 and was still on the job when the plant closed in 1994 making him one of the few to both open and close that facility.

An avid golfer he was one of the area's top amateurs in the 1960s and '70s winning several local tournaments and three Club Championships at his home course Tomoka Oaks. An active member of Tomoka Christian Church he served in multiple capacities most recently as Missions Treasurer. He was also a lifelong volunteer and had held leadership positions in many local organizations including Daytona BMX track Seabreeze Band Parents and SeniorNet. Dave was happiest when with his children and grandchildren playing golf or working in the yard.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years Harriet; two children son Bret Ramstein Air Base Germany and daughter Brooke Myers (husband Frank) Orlando; three grandchildren Andie Alexandra and Ainsley Myers; and two brothers Jack Anderson (Mary Ann) Erie Pa. and Bud Anderson (Pat) McKeesport Pa.
