Obituary

MYRON S. KIRTON 91 passed away June 11 2012. A Visitation will be from 5:00pm-8:00pm Friday June 15 2012 held at Baggett & Summers Funeral Home 736 S Beach Street Daytona Beach FL. A Funeral Service will be the following morning on Saturday June 16 2012 at 10am at Covenant United Methodist Church 3701 South Clyde Morris Boulevard Port Orange FL.
Myron was born April 25 1921 in Monument Colorado and was the sixth son of Henry and Emma Kirton. Myron joined the United States Coast Guard on July 4 1942 and loyally served his country until his honorable discharge October 3 1945. Myron came to Volusia County and operated dairies on Bellevue Avenue Daytona Beach and Tomoka Road Ormond Beach; lastly settling at the Kirton Dairy on Tomoka Farms Road Daytona Beach where he came to his final rest doing what he loved best; walking the land. Myron was predeceased by his first wife Juanita Johns with whom he had six children. He met and married Dorothy Carver who shared his life for the last forty-four years. Together Myron's six children and Dorothy's two became one loving family. Myron is predeceased by two sons James Kirton and Kelly Kirton. He is survived by his wife Dorothy Carver Kirton; six children Tom Kirton and wife Pat; Dottie Morris and husband Alan; Kay Wingard and husband Junior; Bill Carver and wife Joyce; Krys Muller and husband Steve; and Kenny Kirton; eleven grandchildren Jessica Kirton; Kent Kirton and wife Rachelle; Tyler Kirton; Shannon Peters and husband Mike; Brandy Hogue and husband Danny; Jeff Wingard and wife Kim; Kristen Langer and husband Chemie; Courtney Begley and husband Nick; Steven Muller; Kristian Muller; and Stratton Kirton; and seventeen great-grandchildren Emma Miah and Faith Kirton; Austin Garrett and Kera Kirton; Kody Kirton; Brooke and Bailey Peters; Kailey Blaine and Payton Hogue; Jacob and Olivia Wingard; Remey and Harrison Langer; and Landon Begley. Myron was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church Daytona Beach for fifty-two years and at the time of his death a faithful member of Covenant United Methodist Church Port Orange for eleven years. In lieu of flowers and in his honor donations may be made to Covenant United Methodist Church Port Orange or the United Methodist Children's Home 51 Main Street Deltona Florida 32725.
