Myrle A. Whidden Jr. 80 a long-time resident of Daytona Beach passed away March 31 2009. A private family service will be held at a later date. Myrle was a Korean War Veteran and proudly served in the Navy from 1948 - 1952. After serving he attended the University of Florida where he received his Bachelor's Degree in business. After graduating he was employed as an area supervisor for over 30 years with the State Department of Revenue before retiring in 1992. In his spare time Myrle enjoyed working with his computer and watching sports on TV. He was a big fan of the Florida Gators. His family will remember him most for being a great provider and a loving husband and father. He will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Charlotte; daughter Dolores "Lori" Whidden of Daytona Beach and many special friends. He was pre-deceased by his sister Wynona Harrell.
