Muriel S. Moretz, age 90, of Daytona Beach, Florida, passed away at the home of her daughter, on Tuesday, February 10,2015.
Born in Altrincham, Chesire, England, on February 15, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Charles Sowerbutts and Emily Lanceley. She was a war bride who came to The United States in 1946, the wife of the Cicero W. Moretz of Bristol, VA. She was a homemaker who traveled the world with her husband who was in the United States Air Force.
After the death of her husband, she moved to South Daytona, Florida in 1987. She enjoyed reading, Knitting, gardening, and meeting with her British friends of TBPA.
She is survived by her sister, Irene Williams, of Chesire,England; her Son , Floyd C. Moretz and wife Mary, of Roanoke, VA; Terry L. Moretz and wife , Nancy, of Piney Flats, TN; daughter and caretaker, Peggy Pendergrass and her husband Wayne, of Daytona Beach, FL and Helen Long and her husband Lynn of Bristol, Virginia; grandsons, William Pendergrass, Jason Moretz and Jeremy Baker ; granddaughter, Kara Campbell; 2 great-granddaughters and 3 Great-grandsons. Special friends, Jean and Jim Kamm, of Daytona Beach, FL, all her British friends at TBPA and Winnie Campbell of Bluff City, TN.
A memorial service will be held February 17, 2015, at 6:00 PM at the Lohman Funeral Home Daytona 1423 Bellevue Ave, Daytona Beach Fl. Interment and a Graveside service will be held at Mountain View Cemetery in Bristol, VA, on February 20th at 1:00 PM. The family would like to say a special thank you to Vitas Hospice of Daytona Beach, FL for the compassionate care they gave to her in her final days.
