Muriel Corinne Delaney, 86 of Daytona Beach, FL died peacefully on Wednesday morning, February 19, 2014. She loved life and was a tireless advocate for those in her community. She spent much of the last decades of her life involved in local civic groups, working to make the neighborhoods and quality of life better for those around her. Corinne was an avid student of politics and current events. She had some college schooling but was mostly self-taught and could stand toe to toe with many professional legal minds. Courage, tenacity and love are good words to describe her life. She touched the lives of many while she was here with us.
Born in Franklin, Kentucky on July 27, 1927, she was the daughter of Harris and Annie Mae Cherry. Through her lifetime she was an actress, aerobics instructor and entrepreneur but most importantly, she was our mom. She was a quick wit with a sparkle in her eye and sly sense of humor. She died, like she lived, on her own terms. She taught us more invaluable lessons than we even yet know. Corinne leaves behind her four children Marnie, Mark, Martha and Michael and her twin sister Coriece Estes who all love her dearly and will miss her greatly.
