Funeral service for Montelle Bascombe 103 Palm Coast will be 3 p.m. Tuesday June 28 in the chapel of Lohman Funeral Home Palm Coast. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time. Born Feb. 16 1902 in Barbados West Indies Montelle moved to the United States in 1920 settling in New Jersey. She worked as a seamstress in the New York garment district until retiring. She was an avid card player and dancer. She especially enjoyed traveling and has been all over the world including Europe the Middle East and North Africa. Montelle was preceded in death by her husband Mortimer and by her siblings. Left to cherish her memories are her daughter Geraldine Bascombe; son Reynold Bascombe and wife Margaret; grandchildren Shirley Ronald and Jamal; great-grandchildren Frank and Nicole; and many nieces and nephews.
