Monah D. Beach of Port Orange, FL passed away peacefully on her birthday, May 11, 2018. She was 97 years young. Monah was a graduate of Mainland High School (class of 1940) and retired from the Volusia County School System in 1989. As a member of First Baptist Church of Daytona Beach, she taught Sunday School for 38 years. Monah was a charter member of the Sugar Mill chapter of the DAR, was lauded as Woman of the Year by the Daytona Beach Business & Professional Women's Club in 1983, and was awarded Lioness of the Year honors by the Daytona Beach Lions Club in 1992. Monah enjoyed writing poetry, reading, and making new friends. She is survived by her two daughters, Evelyn and Joanne; three grandchildren, Elizabeth, Jonathan, and Stephanie; and three great grandchildren, Alanna, Abigail, and Natalie. Services will be Wednesday, May 16 at 1:00 from the Lohman Funeral Home 1201 Dunlawton Ave. Port Orange, with a viewing for family and friends from 12:00 until the time of the service.
