Obituary

Molly Hoffner Thompson 59 formerly of Salisbury NC and resident of Daytona Beach FL died January 26 2010 surrounded by her family. She was born on March 27 1950 in Salisbury NC to Betty Shook Hoffner and the late Ivey Lee Hoffner and was the youngest of three siblings. She graduated from West Rowan High School of Mt. Ulla NC in 1968. She was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Mt. Ulla NC where she was a former church organist. In 1995 she met her husband James William Thompson and in 1999 they relocated to Daytona Beach where she was employed in customer service at Daily Management Corporation. Molly was an accomplished pianist and had a great love for music. She enjoyed cruises with her husband and spending time on her computer and was an avid reader. Her greatest passion however was being surrounded by the love of her family. Molly will be remembered most for her dazzling smile and her true beauty both inside and out. She will be dearly missed by all who had the opportunity to know her. Left to cherish her memory are her husband James Thompson; son Jeff Hodges and his wife Crystal of Salisbury NC son Brandon Jarrett and his wife Kristy of Salisbury NC; grandchildren Cory and Cody Hodges and Lilly Jarrett of Salisbury NC; brother Terry Hoffner and his wife Frances of Mt. Ulla NC; sister Belinda Stallings and her husband Keith of Salisbury NC; sister-in-law Cindy Hoffner of Mt. Ulla NC and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Jerry Hoffner. Services will be held at St. Luke Lutheran Church Mt. Ulla NC at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to a cancer society of your choice.
