Dr. Minoo Rustom Vaghaiwalla
December 22, 1948 ~ March 21, 2023

Dr. Minoo Rustom Vaghaiwalla was born 22nd December 1948 and passed on March 21st 2023 at the age of 74.  Son of Vira and Rustom Vaghaiwalla, Minoo was born in Mumbai, India. Passionate from a young age about medicine, he attended medical school from 1971-1973 at K.E.M. Hospital in Mumbai, India followed by surgical specialization in cancer at Tata Memorial Hospital.  He then traveled to New York, NY in 1976 for further training in Surgical Oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center followed by an additional year in Thoracic Oncology during which time he was part of the surgical team operating on the President of India.  In 1978, he completed a residency in Urology at the University of Cincinnati in Ohio. He returned to NY in 1981 to complete a fellowship in Urologic Oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering.  In 1982, he moved to Florida, settling in Ormond Beach where he built a successful Urology practice. Minoo and his wife Shirin Vaghaiwalla (nee Davar) resided in Ormond Beach for the next 40 years. Minoo was a pillar of the community in Volusia County, touching countless lives through his friendships with many as well as during his career as a dedicated surgeon to his patients. Above all, he was a devoted husband and father.  He is survived by his wife Shirin, daughters Nina, Tanaz, Zareen, son-in-law, Sundeep, grandchildren Ava, Rayna, and Alina, and sister Feroza and will be missed enormously. A Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 27, 2023 at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona located at 1423 Bellevue Ave., Daytona Beach, FL 32114.
