Mildred Ruth Stout, 91, passed away on December 29, 2014, in her home at the Abbey at Bishop's Glen in Holly Hill. She was born on February 10, 1923, in Tipton, Tennessee, and graduated from Hickman High School. She and Daniel B. Stout, Jr. were married in 1946, and lived in Jewel Ridge, Virginia for a number of years before moving to Daytona Beach in 1957. Ruth and Dan were married 58 years before Dan's death in 2004.
Ruth, as she was known by her friends and family, was a member of Highlands Presbyterian Church, where she served as an elder, and later joined Westminster by the Sea Presbyterian Church in Daytona Beach Shores. She retired from J.C Penney's after 20 years as a sales associate. Ruth shall always be remembered as a kind hearted and gracious woman, with a wonderful sense of humor.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband and their daughter Deborah Ann Stout, who passed away in 2006. She is survived by her daughter Carolyn Pearl of Honolulu, Hawaii; son Stephen Stout of Titusville, Florida; granddaughters Alexandra Stout Lopez of Tampa, Florida, and Samantha Stout Jarvis of St. Louis, Missouri; and sister Mary Louise Kendrick of Memphis, Tennessee.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on January 6 at Lohman Funeral home Daytona Chapel, followed by Interment at Daytona Memorial Gardens, 1425 Bellevue Avenue, Daytona Beach, Florida.
