It is with great sorrow that the family of Mildred Louise Heaton Osterkamp announces her passing on October 12, 2016 after a lengthy illness. Mildred was born at home on July 2, 1932 to Pinckney H. Heaton, Sr. and Leila N. Heaton on John's Island, SC. Mildred worked as a clerk typist at Charleston Naval Shipyard, Camp Lejeune Marine Corp Base, and retired from Roy Allen Elementary School in 1994 after 22 years as an office assistant. Mildred was a founding and lifelong member of Palmdale Presbyterian Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher for many years. She was a member of the Red Hat Ladies and volunteered at Daily Bread. Mildred is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Henry A. Osterkamp, Sr, son Henry A. Osterkamp, Jr. (Cathy), daughter Annette O. Nolan, grandchildren Sarah Anderson (Chad), Christopher Osterkamp, Emily, Graham, and Alex Nolan, great grandsons Morgan Anderson and Malikai Ferrell, sister M. Frances Davis (Odell), brother Pinckney H. Heaton, Jr. (Betty), sister-in-law Bonnie Osterkamp, and many nieces and nephews. Mildred was predeceased by her parents and her daughter Karen L. Osterkamp. There will be a memorial service at Palmdale Presbyterian Church, Melbourne, FL on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 2:00PM.
