Obituary

Funeral Mass for Mike Turchon 51 of Port Orange who passed away in Dallas Texas on Saturday October 13 2007 will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday October 18th at Epiphany Catholic Church with Reverend Paul Kamide officiating. Interment will follow at Daytona Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday Oct. 17th at the Port Orange Chapel of Lohman Funeral Homes. Mike was born in Indiana and moved to Euclid as a young boy where he was raised. He graduated from St. Ignatius HS and then earned both his BS and Masters Degree in Education from Kent State University. He and his family relocated to this area in 1988 and for the past twelve years he enjoyed a career with Bristol Myers Squibb. Mike enjoyed life. Mike loved watching his boys play sports. He was so proud of them. He was also a devoted Cleveland Indians and Browns fan. Mike loved listening to jazz and traveling with his wife Nina especially to Las Vegas and Key West. But most of all he loved giving of himself. He was an unselfish man that could talk to anyone & his zest for life was contagious. Mike touched people's hearts all over the country either thru a business or a personal level. We all should be grateful that we were blessed to have him in our lives. He will be terribly terribly missed. Left to cherish and enjoy the memories of all the wonderful moments they shared together are his wife of 30 years Nina his two sons Michael Jr. and daughter in law JoAnna Anthony all of Port Orange FL; his mother June of Euclid Ohio; his two brothers Johnny of Dallas TX Dennis (Elana) of Mill Valley CA; his sister Patti (Pete) Steigerwald of Dellroy Ohio many nieces and nephews and his dog Petey. He was preceded in death by his father John in 1998. A Memorial Service will be held for Mike in Euclid OH at 10 am Saturday October 27 2007 at St. William Church. The family requests that memorial donations be made in honor of Mike to: American Heart Association 555 W. Granada Blvd. Suite A-1 Ormond Beach FL 32174.
