Michele Melitski, born on September 14, 1957, in Somerville, New Jersey, passed away on April 12, 2026, in Daytona Beach, Florida. She was a beloved individual who found great joy and peace in being by the ocean, a place she treasured deeply throughout her life.
Michele’s journey was marked by resilience and strength, most notably her proud accomplishment of maintaining sobriety for the last five years. During this time, she was very active in Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), where she cultivated lifelong friendships that became like family to her. This period of her life was a testament to her courage and determination, and it brought her a profound sense of fulfillment and community.
She is survived by Harold, her longtime companion, who stood by her side with unwavering support. Michele also leaves behind her loving sisters and their spouses: Barbara and Bill K. Emmerich, and Joan and Greg Hutzler. Additionally, she is remembered fondly by several nieces and nephews who cherished her presence in their lives.
Michele was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Theresa Melitski, as well as her brothers: Michael Melitski (Ellen), John Turchi (Virginia) and Thomas Turchi (Carol). Their memory remains a significant part of the legacy she carries forward.
Arrangements for Michele have been entrusted to Lohman Daytona Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Daytona Beach, Florida. While her absence leaves a profound void, those who knew and loved her will forever hold dear the memories of her warmth, strength, and the indelible mark she left on their hearts.
