Michael A. Wenzel, 77, of Port Orange, Florida, died Thursday, April 20, 2023 . Mike spent his last moments in the arms of his loving wife, Rita, who stayed by his side providing care and support.

An Army veteran of the Vietnam War and former commander of an American Legion P ost 471 , Mike spent most of his professional life working in Human Resources at various companies in New Jersey, before retiring and moving to Florida.

Mike was the personification of a North Star – a guiding light who helped so many people achieve their goals and reach their true potential. With his passing, our paths might be a little dimmer right now, but we have faith he left us pointed in the right direction.

Mike is survived by his wife, Rita, of Port Orange ; his daughter Michelle, her husband Paul, and their sons, Dalton and Landon (Pennsylvania); his daughter Marleen, and her children, Grace, Abby, Sarah, Peter, Monica, and Megan (Maryland); his stepson Gary, his wife Samantha, and their daughter, Miranda (Pennsylvania); his stepson Paul, his wife Caraline, and their children, Sean, Ryan, and Madelyn (New Jersey); his sister, Marilyn, and niece, Andrea (New Jersey) ; and loving friend, Jackie (Florida) .

No funeral or memorial service is immediately planned , but t he family will notify loved ones in the future if a service is scheduled. In his honor, we ask you to raise a bottle of your favorite beverage and make a toast sharing your favorite

memory of him with your loved ones. With love and respect, we too will raise one last bottle of MGD in his honor.

We love you, Mike, and will miss you terribly.
