Michael Lewis Stabel, resident of Ormond Beach, Florida, formerly of Kendall, Florida, passed away on June 10th at the age of 76 years.
Mike was born to Albert and Iva Stabel on March 25, 1950 in Elmira, New York. He married Vicki Stabel in June of 1974, and together they built a beautiful life together. He worked as a deputy sheriff for Miami-Dade Police Department for 26 years. After retiring and moving north to Ormond Beach, he enjoyed meeting friends at the American Legion and socializing with neighbors.
Michael will be sadly missed by his sister, JoAnn Stabel; brother, Jeff Stabel (Babette); nephews Adam Stabel (Robin) and Eric Stabel (Melissa), and his great-nephews and great-nieces, Rylie, Dylan, Eli, Emmett and Emersen. He was predeceased by his parents, Al and Iva Stabel; wife, Vicki Stabel; brother, Tommy, and brother-in-law, J.R.
The care of Michael Stabel is under the careful direction of Lohman Funeral Home Ormond, 733 W Granada Blvd, Ormond Beach, FL 32174. A Memorial service will be held June 19th at 1:00pm at Lohman Ormond, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The American Legion Post 267, where he spent time with friends or Police Officer Assistance Trust, non profit organization that provides assistance to the Miami-Dade officers and their families.
