Michael Joseph Ryan, 74, of South Daytona, Fla. passed away on Saturday, January 25th, 2014 in the comfort of his home. A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 30th, 2014 at Lohman Funeral Home, 1423 Bellevue Ave., from 4pm-5pm. A Celebration of Life Service will begin in the chapel at 5pm with Father Dave Griffin officiating.

Michael was born on October 28th, 1939 in Orange, NJ, to the late Harold "Mickey" and Margaret Ryan. He attended Immaculate Conception High School, Montclair, NJ, and Ocean County College. On May 17th, 1986, he married his love, Patricia Ann Stierli, in Point Pleasant Borough, NJ. Michael served in the U.S. Navy and worked for the Brick Township Police Departments as Patrol Sergeant from August, 1973 to October, 1994.

Michael was a devoted father, husband and friend. He always supported his family and instilled the faith and strength necessary to pursue their dreams and goals. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, poker, watching sports and NASCAR.

Survivors include children, Margaret, Mark, Deborah, Kenneth, Christopher, Patti Jean and Ronald. He also leaves behind 21 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Patricia Ann Ryan (Stierli) in 2012. Memorial gifts can be made to your local Humane Society.
