Obituary

Michael Leroy Morgan was born June 07, 1938 in Lebanon, Missouri to Winfrey Thomas Morgan & Leroyna Wyatt Morgan. He died February 26, 2022, in Ormond Beach, Florida at the age of 83. His family moved to Thayer, Missouri where Mike attended elementary and high school. He graduated from the University of Missouri in 1960 with a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering. He earned a Masters degree in electrical engineering from Penn. State. PhD studies were done at the University of PA. He was a graduate of General Electric Advanced Engineering Program. Mike participated in earning several patents for GE. He married Linda Ann Anderson June 19, 1960.

Mike worked at GE in NY, VA, IN, OK, PA & FL for 32 years. GE sold the Aerospace division to Lockheed Martin in Daytona Beach where he worked for another 2 years before retiring in 1994 at age 56.

After retirement, traveling became a major focus. Mike and Ann toured much of the U.S. including Alaska & Hawaii. Favorite places became annual visits to Bar Harbor, Maine (Acadia Nat'l Park); Estes Park, CO (Rocky Mt. Nat'l Park) and Arkansas, (brother & sister-in-law's houseboat on Norfork Lake). He looked forward to hiking in the mountains and all the associated lake activities.

Mike was a devoted husband and father and included the family in all his activities. He had numerous hobbies throughout his life and pursued each with exuberance. At various times, he enjoyed flying a small plane, water skiing, snow skiing, camping, golfing, fishing, sailing, boating, canoeing, astronomy, traveling, cycling, hiking, racket ball, tennis, music, and playing bridge.

Mike was predeceased by his parents and brother. He is survived by Ann, his wife, of 61 3/4 years; son, Steve Morgan (Vicki); daughter, Cheryl Gama; grandson, Noah Morgan; and sister-in-law, Sondra Morgan.
