Michael David Molnar 80 passed away peacefully at home in his sleep on August 22nd. The family will receive guests Friday August 31st from 4pm to 6pm at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona 1423 Bellevue Ave Daytona Beach. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday September 1st at 2pm at White Chapel Church of God 1730 South Ridgewood Ave South Daytona. An internment at Volusia Memorial Park will follow as well as a reception.
Mike was born to Hungarian immigrants in Niagara Falls Canada and was raised there and on a tobacco farm in Brantford Canada. He studied accounting and was part of a Hungarian folk dance group. He married the love of his life Helen in 1961 and they lived in California for 16 years where he worked as an accountant. They moved to Florida where for over 30 years he owned the Shoreline All Suites Inn and the Cabana Colony Cottages.
For Mike family meant everything. He considered it his calling to serve his immediate and extended family with a generous heart and a God-given gift of hospitality always welcoming anyone God brought across his path. He enjoyed gardening and raising poultry - a true farmer at heart. His family and friends enjoyed his love of cooking delicious meals Hungarian pastries and homemade jams. It gave him a special joy to bake cookies and apple fritters for his grandchildren. He had a genuine faith in his Lord Jesus Christ and always exemplified integrity humility and honesty. Although he never preached a sermon his life reflected God's love for humanity and Gods desire to bless His children. He was a member of the White Chapel Church of God for over 25 years. He recently sponsored a mission trip for his daughter's family to travel to Guatemala to pipe in clean water to a remote village.
He is preceded in death by his wife Helen; his son Tim and infant son Brian; and his brother Arnold. Those left to cherish his memory are his children Frank (Barbara) Molnar of Wilbur-by-the-Sea FL and Dr. Michele (Paul) Emery of Gainesville FL; his grandchildren Colin Max Matthew Peter and James. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
