Michael "Mike" Goch, 94 of Ormond Beach, passed away on January 7, 2014 at Florida Hospital Hospice Care Center, Daytona Beach. Funeral services will be celebrated on Saturday, January 11th at 12:00 p.m., the family will receive friends two hours prior to services at Lohman Funeral Home; 733 W. Granada Blvd. Ormond Beach. Mike was born March 29, 1919 in Jersey City, New Jersey to Gregory and Mary (Kubila) Goch. He graduated High School and was later drafted into the US Army. He served during WWII in the Aleutian Islands and the European Campaign. Once honorably discharged he went on to serve as a New Jersey State Trooper for 28 years, retiring as a Lieutenant, where he had become Director of Intelligence. Once retired, he served on the NJ State Commission of Investigation, investigating organized crime and political corruption. He also remained active in the Former New Jersey State Troopers Assoc. He and his wife relocated from Toms River, NJ to Ormond Beach 28yrs. ago. He was a parishioner at St. James Russian Orthodox Church, and enjoyed taking cruises. Michael is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Ruth Goch of Ormond Beach, his two sons, Michael (Tricia) Goch of Woodland Hills, California, and Greg (Tammy) of Ormond Beach, three sisters, Anastasia Shyko and Mary Kwiatkowski both of Port Orange, FL as well as Irene (Michael) Amara of Boca Raton, FL, and his grandson, Jason Wagner of Woodland Hills, CA.
