Michael Dee Burns, age 24, of South Daytona, passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2013 after a long illness. A Celebration of Life will be held at 5:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona, 1423 Bellevue Ave, Daytona Beach, FL 32114. The family will receive friends for a visitation one hour prior to the service.

Michael was born on February 11, 1989 in Eustis, Florida to Michael and Lisa Burns. He was a talented musician, and spent much of his life playing and writing music. He loved playing music with his brother and friends. Michael was a genuine Rock Star and left us much too soon, as the great rock stars often do.

Michael was articulate, artistic, and he cared deeply about the wellbeing of people and animals, especially the Great Apes. Michael enjoyed learning about politics, world and military history among other things. He had a green thumb and loved growing roses, flowers and especially herbs.

He is preceded in death by his father, Michael Joseph Burns, Grandfather Collier Dee Hendricks, and grandmother Kathleen Burns.

Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved family; Mother and Step-Dad, Lisa and Jack Nunez; brother, Tyler Burns; sister, Kaitlyn Wilson; Grandparents; Gary and Sandra Bott, Grandfather, Laurence Burns; Grandmother Lori Hendricks; Great-Grandparents Nevin and Lulubelle Bott, And his dog Peter. Michael also leaves behind a plethora of friends and extended family, all of whom he cared for immensely.
