Merlyn "Lynn" Bryant age 76 entered her Heavenly home on Sunday May 13 2007 from the Stewart F. Meyer Hospice House in Palm Coast FL. A Funeral Service will be celebrated in First Baptist Church of Palm Coast 6050 Palm Coast Parkway NW at 1:00pm on Friday May 18 2007 with Pastor Denis Littleton officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Thursday May 17 2007 in the church. Interment will follow the service at Volusia Memorial Park in Ormond Beach. Merlyn was born April 29 1931 in Verdun Quebec Canada to the late Sydney Salathiel & Irene (nee: Burrowes) Bryant. From a young age Merlyn was very active in community and church related activities as well as sports like swimming skating & baseball. She received awards & commendations for her charitable nature and deeds. Merlyn was a graduate of Verdun High School and furthered her studies through evening programs at the Ontario Bible College and Toronto Conservatory School of Music while working full time during the day. In 1969 Merlyn relocated to New York and began an over 25 year career as a bookkeeper/controller for two prestigious travel corporations. In 1996 Merlyn moved to Palm Coast where she was an active member of First Baptist Church of Palm Coast the Flagler County Choral Society Christian Women's Club and former treasurer of the L.F.H.A. Merlyn was preceded in death by 4 brothers Douglas Clarence Alfred & Rev. Dr. Wrenfred Bryant. She is survived by a loving family who will miss her dearly- sister Sylvia & Rev. Eustace Meade of Scarbourough Ontario; nieces Sharon (& Gerard) DeAbreu of Scarbourough ON. and Catherine Meade of Halifax Nova Scotia; great nephew & niece Bryant & Catherine DeAbreu; cousins Lillian Bryan & family Violet Jones Oliver Jones & family Shirley Forde & family Gretchen Atkins and Jean Enoch & family; sister in law Helen Bryant of Halifax N.S. and many extended relatives and church family and friends. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Florida Hospital Hospice Care: Oceanside or Stewart F. Meyer Hospice House; First Baptist Church of Palm Coast: Benevolent Fund; or to the charity of one's choice.
