Merlene C. Thaxter, 77, of Deltona, Florida passed away at home on April 11, 2025. She was born in Kingston, Jamaica on April 28,1947 to Donald and Dorothy Singh.

Merlene was the rock of her family, holding everyone together. She will be remembered as a strong, loving, and supportive mother, wife, and best friend. Merlene had a green thumb, and took great pride in watching her garden burst into color every season. Her presence will be deeply missed, but will carry on through her family who will always cherish her as their everything.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Dorothy Singh; and her brother, Conroy Rambalie.

Merlene leaves behind her loving husband, Winston A. Thaxter; her children, Tony Thaxter, Clay (Lisa) Thaxter, and Sue-Ann Thaxter; her grandchildren, Aaron, Anthony, Andrew, Aiden, Alijah, Avery, and Christian; and her great-grandson, Kaiden.
