Maysel Roxie Wickline Moses (Wickie) born September 25 1916 and a former resident of Port Orange passed away peacefully December 30 2011 in Dallas TX. Visitation will be Friday January 6 from 4 to 6 pm at the Lohman Funeral Home Daytona 1425 Bellevue Ave. A celebration of her life will be Saturday January 7 at 10am also at the funeral home and officiated by the Rev. Jeffrey Sumner. Burial will follow at Daytona Memorial Park. She was a resident at the Gardens of Richardson TX where she enjoyed many caring friends and caretakers. She was born to Nita Baker Wickline and Ira Hayes Wickline in Sweet Springs WV; graduated as an RN from Kanawha Valley Hospital in Charleston WV and later became the Head of Female Surgery at Charleston General Hospital.
Maysel and her family moved to Daytona Beach in 1956. She was an RN at Halifax Hospital until she became the nurse for gynecologist Gerald Williams. She later served as vice president of the former Passport Bootique Shoe Salon on Beach Street founded by her husband Nick. She was a member of Westminster-by-the-Sea Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Moses is predeceased by her husband of 63 years Nicholas Moses (Nick Karel); sisters Neta Harris and Wanda Neel and brothers Russell Wickline and Ellery Wickline. She is survived by her sisters Beulah Taylor of Dallas NC and Bernadine Andrews of Springfield VA; daughter Sharon and son-in-law Harold Hosack; son John and daughter-in-law Patricia Moses; grandchildren: Kara and Richard Fowler Randy and Ray Hosack Marcelle and Mark Hosack and Andrea Cole; great grandchildren: Alaina and Jarrett Fowler Brad Tipton Madelyn and Luke Hosack Nyda and Matia Hosack; and many loving nieces and nephews. Maysel led a rich life full of family and good friends hard work beach walks gardening crocheting and story-telling. She enriched the lives of all who knew her. She is greatly missed.
