Dr. Matthew James Hentzel , 47, of Ormond Beach, FL passed away on Tuesday, August 3rd, 2021 at 5:45pm. He was born in Davenport, Iowa to James Paul Hentzel and Sherry Elaine Hentzel. He was a devoted Foot and Ankle Surgeon at AdventHealth Deland. He was a fellow member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He was an avid golfer, sports fan and enjoyed fishing, cooking, and spending time with family.

Survivors include his parents James Paul Hentzel and Sherry Elaine Hentzel, his wife of 19 years, Alma Taylor Hentzel of Ormond Beach, his children Ryan, Arianna, and AJ. His sister Katie Hentzel and her husband Reggie Peters, his nieces Egypt and Kaleigh Peters. As well as numerous in-laws, nieces, and nephews.

A Service of Remembrance will be celebrated on Tuesday August 10th at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond. Public viewing will held from 2:00pm-4:00pm and service will follow at 4:00pm. Due to COVID, the family is asking that all attendees wear a mask, vaccinated or not.
