Obituary

Matthew E. Dunn 21 of Ormond Beach lost his courageous battle with Cystic Fibrosis on July 22 2010. A visitation will be held on Monday July 26 2010 at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond 733 W. Granada Blvd. The family will receive guests from 6pm-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday July 27 2010 at The Basilica of St Paul Catholic Church at 1:00pm. Burial will follow at Volusia Memorial Park.
Matthew was born in Daytona Beach Florida on November 19 1988. He was an extraordinary young man who refused to let Cystic Fibrosis set the parameters of his life. Against all odds he chose the trumpet as his first instrument and later played the French horn in the marching band at Seabreeze High School. Matt was a passionate Gator fan -- very rarely did you catch him wearing anything but orange and blue -- and he proudly traveled to watch the Gators play and win two National Championships. Most of all Matt loved being with people. He never met a stranger and made a connection with every single person he encountered. His quick wit and entertaining personality brought smiles to everyone around him. Matt loved being a part of a large close-knit family who gather now to celebrate his life and who will miss him forever.

He will be greatly missed by his Parents Wes and Rosanne Dunn of Ormond Beach FL; Brothers Nick and Ben Dunn of Ormond Beach FL. Paternal Grandmother Dr. Maggie Dunn of DeLand; Maternal Grandparents; Bel and Al Krier of Palm Coast; Aunts and Uncles Barb and Joe Krier of Jacksonville; Kelley and John Perez of Palm City; Christine and Mike Baker of Ormond Beach; Julie and Bob Eichenberg of Atlanta Georgia; cousins Sydney and Kurt Krier; Jonathan and Christina Perez; Catherine and Maggie Rose Baker and Zachary and Tyler Eichenberg as well as his beloved dogs Fancy and Sugar and Matt's multitude of friends. He is being welcomed at the gates of heaven by his paternal grandfather former Senator Edgar Dunn Jr. his great-grandparents Charlotte and Ed Dunn Sr. Peg and Ray McCurry and Kate Schwenker.

We shall keep his memory alive in our hearts. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in Matt's memory to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation www.cff.org. Friends may send condolences to www.LohmanFuneralHomes.com. Arrangements are under the careful supervision of Lohman Funeral Home Ormond.
