Obituary

Mary Kristina Wells Spearman, our most precious wife, mother, mother-in-law, sister, aunt, neighbor, friend and co-worker left us much too soon on Friday February 5, 2016.

Mary was born in Niskayuna, New York. After a short period of time in Palatka, FL, Mary's family relocated to Decatur (Atlanta), GA. Mary graduated from Druid Hills High School in 1969. She furthered her education at David Lipscomb College in Nashville, TN. Mary lived with her parents and sister after returning to Decatur. Mary followed her parents and much-loved sister Emily to Jacksonville when they moved. In Jacksonville Mary worked for Stockton, Whatley, Davin & Co. On March 15, 1974 - the Ides of March -Mary met Harry and the greatest love affair was born. To the day a year later they were married. At the time of her passing they had been married for 40 plus years. Of their union, two sons were born Daniel (35) and Jay (32.) At one time all worked together in the family business. Mary was working as a mortgage loan originator at the time of her passing. Mary was a very active member of the National Association of Mortgage Brokers and Florida Association of Mortgage Professionals serving in executive positions.

Mary and Harry enjoyed traveling and visited many areas of the world. She was a gourmet cook and was the ultimate hostess with the mostess. Mary loved the beach, her MR2 and dragging Harry to every social event in the State and beyond.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents Rachel and Harold Wells, a brother Matthew Wells and a sister Emily Wells. She is survived by husband Harry and two sons Daniel and his wife Neta and Jay. She is also survived by one sister Beth Patterson and husband Chris and one brother Hal and wife Velda; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and one great-great niece; many cousins; an aunt Patricia Melen; and special cousin Marna.

Mary celebrated many happy events these past years especially Dan marrying Neta (another wonderful union) and attending Harry's high school reunion.

Mary was a ray of sunshine to everyone gracing us with her beauty and wonderful smile. Mary you will be sorely missed. Peace be with you and God Speed.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday February 11, 2016 at Tomoka Christian Church, 1450 Hand Avenue, Ormond Beach, FL 32174, with a visitation being held from 10am till 11am.

Memorial Donations may be made in her memory to The American Cancer Society, in lieu of flowers.
