Obituary

Mary Bob Caton Wehmeyer born in DeQueen Arkansas December 13 1920 died March 7 2007 at Halifax Medical Center from complications with pneumonia. Bob and Minnie Bell Caton were her deceased parents. Her husband Harry A. Wehmeyer preceded her in death. Her family moved from Arkansas to Shreveport LA where she graduated from C. E. Byrd High School before moving to Orlando FL. Mary started her business career at the young age of 17 first working for A. P. Phillips Advertising Agency then George Stuart Office Supply Co.. She later became the head auditor for Orange Court Hotel and affiliates of Miami Colonial and Port Huron Michigan. She then worked for the First National Bank of Orlando which is now Sun Trust. It was there she met her husband Harry whom she married in 1946. He was a professional golf instructor and they lived in several cities throughout the U.S. and Canada. Mary ran several pro shops where he instructed. They finally settled in Port Orange where Harry died of cancer. Mary worked for several years thereafter as bookkeeper for the Epiphany Catholic Church in Port Orange. She leaves to cherish her memory her sister Eileen Caton Ward (Ferris) of Orlando; stepdaughters Harriet Wehmeyer Luhnow (Fred) and Jackie Wehmeyer Berbette of Dallas TX; step grandsons Bradley Berbette (Juli) and three children and Chris Berbette and three children; nephews Donald Randolph Ward (Mary) Dee Ward (deceased) Ed Wehmeyer of Casselberry FL and niece Jan Wehmeyer of Clearwater FL; cousins Richard Caton (Pat) of Port Orange Rex and Lora Beth and faithful friend of many years Peggy Sheehan also of Port Orange. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday March 13 2007 at the Epiphany Catholic Church on Lafayette St. Port Orange with Father Paul Kamide officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service and interment will follow in Daytona Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made in honor of Mary to Epiphany Catholic Church or to the charity of your choice.
