Obituary

Mary Virginia Telson went to join Our Lord and Savior on December 16, 2018.  Mary was born in Brooklyn NY On September 12, 1927 to Anthony and Fortunata Nardo.  Raised in an apartment above her father's Sweet Shop, along with her brother Anthony, Mary lived in close proximity to her large family and enjoyed their love and companionship over the years.  This included her four favorite cousins with whom she would frequent Big Band concerts and dances as they grew older throughout NYC.  Mary met her dashing husband, Donald Teslon, on one of those occasions, and they were quite the couple on the dance floor for years to come. Married on August 19, 1951, the couple soon started a family, and moved to the suburbs of NJ. Her three children, Donna, Steven, and Dean, were the center of life, and she dedicated her all being to her family's welfare.  She worked part time in a neighborhood sweet shop/luncheonette through three owners, and finally went to work full time as a clerk when her husband became disabled in his mid fifties.  Her examplary work ethic gained her many rewards but just evidenced her character. Always putting others before herself, Mary's compassion and sense of humor made her beloved among friends over the years.  This continued even after she was wheelchair bound, always helping those less fortunate. Mary is survived by three children, six grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
