IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary Ann
Richardson
November 13, 1946 – June 10, 2024
Mary Ann Richardson passed away on June 8, 2024, in Daytona Beach Florida. She was born on November 13, 1946, in Memphis, Tennessee to the late H.A. and Rosemary Richardson. During her early years living in Jackson, Tennessee, she graduated from Jackson High School. She later graduated from Vassar College with an undergraduate degree and Columbia University with a master's degree. Always an exceptional businesswoman, she was the proud owner of the El Caribe Hotel in Daytona Beach for over 40 years. During this time, she became the first woman president of the Florida Hotel Motel Association and was voted by her peers as the Hotelier of the Year in 1999. She also served many years as a trustee for the Florida Hospitality Mutual Insurance Company. With a great love for the Lord and service, she was a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church in Daytona Beach and served as an elder and deacon. Mary Ann was known for her compassionate and generous nature towards many local and religious causes and touched the hearts of many. An avid traveler, she loved exploring the world with her friends and family. In her later years, she wrote The Jesus Man, which told the stories, miracles, and remarkable journeys of missionary Warren Willis. She is survived by her four brothers Joe, John, Jim, and Bill as well as her six nephews, one niece, three great-nieces, and one great-nephew. She will be forever loved and missed.
Mary Ann's dear friend, Jim Wallis, published the following article in her honor:
